Most artificial insemination pregnancies by using partner’s sperm occur in the first 3-4 insemination cycles. The chance of success per month drop after 3 attempts and considerably decreases after 4-6 treatment cycles. Therefore, this therapy is not usually recommended for more than 4-6 cycles. If the reason of infertility is lack of ovulation (anovulation) then it may be reasonable to try 6-12 cycles totally.

The test tube baby technique is the next and final step for infertility treatment. It has a good successful pregnancy rate per cycle to date.
